Later in the week, Grandma came for Greta's birthday, too! We spent the day with grandparents and friends at the Zoo and then headed back home for some cake and ice cream. Here we are leaving "North America" and heading over to "Africa" at the Ashboro Zoo.

Greta and Alex ready to hit the trail!

But first, they decided to gang up on Kevin. Somehow he ended up on their level, and these little guys tackled him. Dads are fun!

This sweet threesome had a fun day at the zoo!

Oddly, I didn't take many shots of Greta with the animals, but suffice it to say that the hit of this zoo trip was the Puffin exhibit! She LOVED watching them dive down and then head back to the surface to kick around and paddle. A close second was the Seal and Sea Lion Exhibit. These guys were pretty mesmerized by it. We spent most of the day at the Zoo and then headed home around nap time.

Here's the birthday spread - - some presents, some cake, and some grandmothers. What more could you want? More friends! Here is Cooper and his mom, Katie.

Alex was trying to leave a birthday message for Greta in code on this cool easel that Grandma got for Greta.

And Colin was trying to figure out how to eat his cake with such a huge fork.

Speaking of cake - - Paul did a great job on the birthday cake again this year!

Greta's birthday crown didn't stay on quite as long this year as last, but she wore it just long enough for at least a few shots.

On to presents. . . .

Oh my gosh - - a book on potty training! So exciting. And what's more fun - the present itself or the packaging? Close one.

More wagon time with Cooper and Alex in the back yard. Colin was hanging out in the swing.

The festivities continued right up until bedtime. We ate cake for dinner and took balloons to bed. It was a nice, simple two year old birthday. Thanks to everyone for being part of it!
