Tradition at Greta's school is for the birthday kid to bring treats for the three o'clock snack time. This year, Paul and his mom whipped up some cupcakes for Greta to take. Unfortunately, when I showed up with the home made cupcakes the next day and a hand full of balloons, I was told that the treats must be store bought. So - - off to the grocery store I went to buy new cupcakes. Greta didn't know the difference and had fun with her buds. I hung out with them for the afternoon and got to be a fly on the wall as she went through her afternoon school activities. Pretty fun.
Here are all her little cronies.
Mmmm - - cupcakes. All these kids are turning two, and since birthdays happen so frequently, Greta can almost sing "Happy Birthday" and refers to cupcakes as "bir-day."
Out in the side play yard, the kids got to hoola hoop. . .
. . . hug . . .
. . . and RACE! They did this over and over! They'd all line up at one end, count 1, 2, 3, GO, and then run like crazy to the other end. What a nice way to run off cupcake energy!
Well folks, there you have it - - the official end to Greta's birthday celebrations. Our sweet one turned two years old and had many a party to ring in year three. Whatever will we do next year?
