Happy Halloween
We had high hopes this year for trick or treating. Nana made Greta a fabulous witch costume complete with cape, hat, and tutu. Greta wore the entire get-up for exactly three minutes, and during that time she was at school and I was not there with my camera. Suffice it to say, that while she normally loves dress up - - Greta was not into her costume this year. Or maybe she just didn't like being a witch. At any rate, one thing that she did LOVE about Halloween this year was a trip to a farm with our friends the Formans and Cumbuses. Here we are on the tractor ride out to the farm.
Look at all the pumpkins! ("Puh-kin, Mama!")
(Yes, I realize that I dressed her in double denim and that we don't live in Texas, but I have yet to buy a winter coat for her, so this was our only option . . . . The style gods are angry, I know.)
Greta's Grandaddy would be proud - - she loved the John Deere! And, oddly, the giant vat of corn. Like a Redneck Ball Crawl! She kept saying, "Pah-corn!" About a week after this, I was dressing her and when I took the boots she wore that day off the shelf, ten or more little corn kernels fell out of them.
The kids had fun in there. . .
And so did the dads.
After the corn festivities, the three got lost in this tunnel.
And then picked some pumpkins.
Here's a good one!
Then on to see the pigs and the chickens!
