Nana and Grandaddy's Visit

Mom and Dad came to spend Thanksgiving with us this year. Mom came up the week before Thanksgiving and Dad came the week of Thanksgiving. Here are some shots of the preliminary fun with Nana around. First, Nana did some sewing while she was here (surprise, surprise!). We made curtains for the dining room, and Greta helped. Check out that Michigan State Cheerleader outfit Paul's mom gave Greta - - she cheers for MSU every game day! (And sometimes in between.) Nana introduced Greta to the concept of standing in a chair to help with the cooking. The special thing about this particular chair is that it came from my grandmother's house along with the table in this photo. I asked my mom how far back in her memory she remembers this table and chair set, and she said it was present in her home for as long as she can remember. It makes me smile to see my little one using that chair the way my mom probably did and I know that I did. Wow - - pink. We don't always plan it that way, but when 80% of her wardrobe is one color, sometimes it just so happens.

Paul raked leaves and mom and I helped him bag them up. Greta was not a fan of the leaf pile this year. Maybe next fall.

She is a big fan of stickers, it turns out. We bought some clementines for Thanksgiving, and Mom put the stickers from the fruit on Greta's hands. She loved it!

And an acorn squash sticker thrown in for good measure.

Hands, forehead, where ever they would stick.

We spent a lot of time at the park in the last couple of weeks. Greta's loving the slides these days.

We had a fun couple of weeks! Thanks for coming early, Nana!

  1. Parks are the BEST! We go several times a day when the weather is nice ;) Good way to get those climbing skills mastered ;)
