Holiday Season
We spent Thanksgiving at our house this year. We made all the traditional foods, went to the Charlotte Thanksgiving parade, watched the ball game, and lazed around for the afternoon. Nothing new - - just a nice holiday spent at home with family. We are thankful for that.
Greta at the parade. This was her expression for the duration of the parade - - she was completely still, mouth open, eyes fixed on the folks marching up the street. We are assuming she liked it; either that, or she was really cold.
The morning after Thanksgiving, we left the world of pumpkins and turkeys and went right into Christmas festivities. Since mom and dad were with us, we decided to put up our tree a little earlier than usual this year so that they could see Greta during that process. She woke up from a nap to find a live tree in her living room! She reacted with some surprise, but she was fine with it. When we broke out the popcorn and cranberries for the garland, we discovered something new about our child: she LOVES popcorn! She ate more than we strung.
Seriously, handfulls of popcorn went into that mouth for an hour or so!
Here she is fresh from a bath ready to check out any of the ornaments she might have missed earlier in the afternoon. Classic.
