Ten Years, Just Breathe

We spent our ten year wedding anniversary "glamping" in the Colchagua Valley for two nights.  Two nights of copious amounts of extremely good wine and delicious dinners at gorgeous, rustic restaurants.  Two days of naps, hot tubs, reading, and hiking.  It was fantastic, and we have to figure out how to do this much more often.

The "campsite".

Our view included a lemon grove and sheep in the distance.

Stoking up the hot tub!

I could get used to this.

When we checked into the resort, we were told that Ali, Ty, Jake, and Kelly ordered flowers and a bottle of champagne for us.  On top of keeping and entertaining our kids for the weekend, these lovely friends also thought to call ahead and order up these nice gifts.  So grateful for these people.

Some of the scenery in the area.  Luscious vineyards, wineries, and simple beauty.

Happy Anniversary!

About a week ago, Paul and I went to see our first Pearl Jam concert.  On many levels, it was so tremendously uplifting.  This was a band that influenced all of our teen angst, bled into our college years of figuring out what to keep and what to let go from our upbringing, and then with Peace Corps, we each kind of found replacements for these lyrics.  We spent time alone on the floor of that stadium listening to songs that made us cry twenty years ago.  We danced and stomped and made our own little mosh pit.  Somewhere around the end of the show, there we were, aching with reverence as we heard this one for the first time.  It was a fitting song for us as we so recently celebrated ten years of marriage together.  Did I say that I need you?  Did I say that I want you? If I didn't I'm a fool you see.  No one knows this more than me.  As I come clean.

Pearl Jam, Just Breathe

Yes, I understand that every life must end
As we sit alone, I know someday we must go
Oh I'm a lucky man, to count on both hands
the ones I love

Some folks just have one,
yeah, others, they got none

Stay with me
Let's just breathe.

I practiced all my sins,
never gonna let me win
Under everything, just another human being
Yeah, I don't wanna hurt, there's so much in this world
to make me bleed

Stay with me
You're all I see.

Did I say that I need you?
Did I say that I want you?
Oh, if I didn't I'm a fool you see
No one knows this more than me.
As I come clean.

I wonder everyday
as I look upon your face
Everything you gave
And nothing you would save
Nothing you would take
Everything you gave

Did I say that I need you?
Oh, did I say that I want you?
Oh, if I didn't I'm a fool you see
No one knows this more than me
And I come clean

Nothing you would take
Everything you gave.
Hold me till I die
Meet you on the other side
