That Mini Guy

About a month ago, we celebrated St. Patrick's Day.  We made a really big deal about wearing green to school that day.  Greta's class didn't acknowledge the day at all.  But Wyatt's teacher had created a large-scale hunt for the leprechaun and his pot of gold.  The children walked all over Nido's enormous campus following a trail of gold dust (glitter) looking for the "Mini Guy" as Wyatt has come to call him.  Indeed, they did find the gold coins, which gave our children a great deal of hope that we could set our own trap for that mini guy at home.  Greta and Wyatt painted some rocks from our garden and rolled them in glitter.  They then built a trap and set the "gold" bait under it. They made some signs to make sure the mini guy was totally clueless about their luring him into the trap. Then . . . . they waited.

Turns out, they did catch a leprechaun - - albeit momentarily.  Despite the fact that there was no mini guy in our trap the next morning, we have to assume that he was caught for a time, at least, because he left behind some of his gold.

 Maybe better luck next year.
