The concept of having Easter in the Fall is preposterous. Good thing Chile's Fall is pretty similar to Spring in the US. The season is changing, but leaves aren't really falling here. Instead, the bit of rain we recently had is making the hillsides begin to turn green, and wildflowers are finally poking through. We spent our long weekend hiking, biking and running. We heard stories of passover and resurrection and springtime renewal. Finally, we spent most of one day preparing for our Easter dinner with four amazing families.
A few days prior to Easter, the kids opened their packages from Aunt Lori. They loved everything!
Julio loved the grass.
Hiking Mount Manquehue
After dying 27 eggs, the kids had one giant hunt on Easter morning!
Then the preparation for the festivities began!
The tables were set!
Bunnies love lemon curd coconut buttercream cake, right?
I took at least 30 photos of this group of children, and honestly, these are the best. Wow.
It's really nice having a potluck with friends who actually love to cook. Holy moly, the food was fantastic.
Greta's kindergarten teacher, Mr. Jon, came for dinner. He couldn't resist reading the children a story. Very dramatically, too.
Off to the park to hunt eggs!
All lined up getting the fair play instructions!
Greta took this shot of the grown ups. Love having all these fantastic people in our lives. We love getting to know them more and more as we share so many experiences in this lovely country. Happy Easter and happy Fall!
