Wyatt's class went on a field trip to a local farm earlier this month. We walked up the mountain behind our school, Nido, and spent the morning visiting the animals. This was the culmination of Wyatt's class's "barnyard babies" curriculum. It's hilarious listening to the kids reciting the animal sounds and in seeing them play with all the farm toys and props brought out for just a few weeks. They even made a nest for a stuffed hen. They put the hen on her nest and observed her for several days. One day she magically lay some eggs. A few days later, the eggs were open and several babies were hatched. Eventually, the babies were gone. What a creative bunch of teachers and parents. We feel so grateful that our kids get to attend such a fantastic school.
Wyatt and Matias on their way up the mountain. Below, a photo of Nido's campus from up the mountain. What a gorgeous view.
The class picnic!
Nido is situated at the base of the Andes which are behind this photo's vantage point. Just over those larger mountains, you can see Santiago. Our house is right over the lower peak.
Sweet pals: Matias, Wyatt, and Alessandro.
*As an aside, Wyatt has yet to remove his two Emergency Room bracelets from several weeks ago when he had to get stitches. I think these bracelets will have to fall off on their own.
