Up at 6 to fold a load of laundry and pack breakfast for the car ride to the dentist, scheduled for 7:20. Also packed clothes and snacks for swim lessons set for this evening. Get children ready. Make beds. Throw a load of laundry in. Leave home at 7 in the dark, eat breakfast in the car, and make our dentist appointments on time. To school and work at 8:27 while telling my children that we need to start flossing. Meeting with colleague at 9. Meeting with boss at 9:30. Trial prep from 10 to noon. Managers' meeting/lunch from noon to 2. Run down two district court judges to be heard on two emergency child abuse custody cases from 2:15 to 3:30. To Target to buy swim suits for G and Wy at 4. Late afternoon client meeting from 4:30 to 5:15. To pre-school to pick up children at 5:30. To swim lessons across town while doling out snacks in the car. 6:00 - children swim, swim, swim while I fill out swim registration paperwork that I neglected until now. Home at 7. Dinner, bath, stories, snuggles, bed for the children at 8:30. Rotate wet laundry into the dryer. Wine and long bath for me. To bed. This is practically every day and the same for basically every woman I know. Is it any wonder we all go to sleep at 9:30?
