Welcome Spring!

During the last week or so, Spring has finally come.  We are seeing little and large reminders of this all over our house and yard.  Greta is a collector.  I emptied the pockets of her winter coat recently and found twenty or thirty dried "dandies" - as she calls them.  The dandelions were collected over time from her playground at school.  This week, she has collected flowers from every place we venture out.  Just a sampling.
Wyatt's little toys which are normally stuck everywhere inside our home are now just as likely to be found outdoors.
This week, we discovered that a mama cardinal has built her nest in our holly bush right outside our dining room.  To date, there are three little brown speckled eggs in her nest.  We have lowered the shade in order to give her a little privacy, but we get to sneak peaks periodically.
This is dark because I took it through glass from across the room  using my not-so-great focus.  She is totally  brown but for her beak.
Yesterday, we lazed around all day long outside.  Greta and Wyatt enjoyed a ladybug.

After dusting all the pollen off our chairs, we hung out drinking our various forms of "grape" beverage.
Greta got this shot of Wy and me!
 My sweet tree huggers.

I was eight and a half months pregnant when we moved into this house and I remember thinking that the giant magnolia in our front yard would make an excellent climbing tree for our children one day.  I was right!

Greta took this bouquet of flowers to our elderly neighbor yesterday.  All her idea. I love this little girl's caring spirit so much.  She says sometimes that she wants to be a "nurse practitioner" one day, and I think doing such caring work would be right in Greta's wheelhouse.
While G picked flowers, Wyatt threw rocks and magnolia droppings into the street.  He did this for probably 45 minutes yesterday.  The boy LOVES to throw.
So thankful for a new season of regeneration and renewal.  Welcome Spring!
