The Babies of Legal Services of Southern Piedmont

I have been at Legal Services of Southern Piedmont for five years, and in that time I have become pretty close friends with three of my colleagues. When I started at LSSP, none of us had children and one of my colleagues was not yet married.  During the past five years, though, there have been SIX new additions to our lives.  We see each other every day, eat lunch together about four days every week, serve on committees together, counsel clients together, go to court together, vent together, and cry on one another's shoulder sometimes.  In light of the relationship we get to stoke at work each week, we rarely make time to hang out after-hours, though we should.  A few weeks ago, we did all spend a Sunday together, and our sweet babes and sweet husbands all got along well, too. Greta is still talking about these children and their parents.
Baby Jackson, Sofia, Wy, and G.
Sweet, new Baby Charlie.  Greta is in LOVE!
I'm not sure Jackson was totally sold on Wyatt until he learned that Wy has some nifty cars.  Then things got a little more interesting for him.  I know some changes are afoot in the coming years, and that we will likely not all spend our careers at LSSP, but I have loved knowing all of these babies from the moment their moms started telling people that they were coming soon.  There is something to that.  And I think that I'll be attending some graduations and weddings of these guys in the 25 or 30 years to come.  You cannot do the jobs we all do without being bonded in major ways to your colleagues.  Greta calls them my "work friends."  I just call them friends.
