Concentration

Paul and Wyatt were off somewhere recently which opened the door for Greta and me to play with some beads and string. This is an activity that can only be enjoyed when all one year old little brothers are either away from home or fast asleep. Since Wy was out, we took advantage and set about to make some jewelry. I love watching Greta use her hands and spend so much time concentrating. I worry just a teeny bit about her need to get that bead on the string, but I am also thrilled that she stays at it. I can so easily relate to her exasperated sigh and her need to move from the floor to the chair in order to get a better angle on her work. Best of all: I love that through all the concentration, Greta is doing it all in an imaginary play scenario in which I am her child and she is my mom. What a delightful snipit of the ordinary.
