Singing

Another little tidbit as you wait for more photos: Greta is officially embarrased by my singing. Or it just gets on her nerves. We were in the car yesterday, and I was singing along to a song on the radio. Greta started saying, "No! No, Mama, NO!" I couldn't figure out at first what she was protesting. So I kept on singing, and she kept shouting, "No!" I asked Greta to sing some songs herself, and when I would join in, she told me "no" again. Finally, sensing that "no" wouldn't work, Greta switched gears and began shushing me. Every time I'd start to sing along with her or the radio, she would put her finger to her lips and say, "Shhhhhh, Mama." Hmmm - I'm handling this by ignoring her. I explained to her that she'd just have to get over it because although I do it poorly, I do love to sing, and everyone should be able to belt one out every now and then. Even her mom. I think she'll learn to cut me some slack. Eventually. But the teen years are going to be fun . . . . I can feel it.
