Collecting, grouping, corralling

As I mentioned in an earlier post, Greta is a big fan since around Thanksgiving of putting little things into compartments. The things can be anything lying around the house. The compartment can be a little purse, a tupperware container, or in these shots - - a baking pan and a bath tub. I broke out some crayons and paper the other day, and Greta was much more interested in putting the crayons in and out of the box (over and over and over) than in using them to color. This morning, Greta emptied the contents of a little basket under her changing table and carried them into the kitchen where I was. She was crying and didn't stop until I gave her a compartment for her items. I handed her this baking pan and she settled herself into putting these lotions and hair brushes in and out of the pan for the next ten minutes. Same is true of her bath time! A couple of days ago I bought her some new tub toys - -these numbers and letters. Greta ocasionally sticks them on the shower walls, but mostly she just puts them all at one end of the tub and then corralls them to the other end of the tub - - back and forth ad nauseum. It's amazing what her little mind comes up with.
