It just never gets old - getting our families together. I could spend ten weekends a year with these ladies, and it would not be enough. Courtney and Lisa are some of my oldest and probably truly my dearest friends. They know me, in some ways, better than my spouse. So when we can get our families together for a long weekend here or there, it is nearly spiritual for me. Our husbands all get along well, too, and Greta has referred to some of these kids as her "cousins". I love it! And we had a wonderful addition this summer - - Isabella! She is Lisa's sweet niece who happened to be in Birmingham at Lisa's house for the weekend, too. It's amazing to note how helpful Isabella was at entertaining the younger kids. I see a great babysitter in the making.
This was the best group shot I could get. Wyatt hates group photos, and I guess Jon David was feeling a little shy, but otherwise, it's an ok shot of the rest of them.
Sweet Lisa and sweet Greta.
We went to an urban park and had the best time playing on the equipment, running around the giant lawn, and throwing around the football. Who knew Jay was a gymnast? On another day, we left the city and headed out to do a little creek walking. These kids have no fear of dirt!
Lisa and Dave live on a little lake, and Dave treated us to some fishing. Levi even caught his first big one!
Silly faces!
Oh my! While Greta and Miles were taking things out of Lisa's closet for dress-up, we were scheming about how we can get each invited to the other's prom one day. :)
Can't wait until next year!
