Myrtle Beach

Ah, the beach!  We went on a very spur of the moment beach trip with our friends Michael, Melissa, Bodhi, and Cielle last weekend.  The hotel had a great kid-sized water park on the grounds snuggled right up next to the beach.  It was great fun!

Greta would have gone down the water slide all by herself, but because of her age, they would not allow it.  My brave girl.

Greta seems to seek out female companions anywhere we travel.  Not sure if it is because she's been out of school this summer and thus has been playing only with our friends' children - - most of whom are boys - - or if it's just her age.  She zeroed in on Sophie the minute her family hit the beach.  Bodhi played around the edges of them, but he was mostly unmoved.
Cielle got a little sun on her baby legs.  Sweet little one.
Wyatt continues to be extremely fearless in the water - any water.  He loves the pool and simply throws himself off the edge whether anyone is there to catch him or not.  He loved the ocean, too, and had no problem going under the waves a time or two.
Greta was a bit more reluctant to venture way out, but she totally got into the little boogie board.  At one point, she was balancing on it like a surf board while in a little tidal pool.  Greta is also swimming!  It's actually more of a doggie paddle, but she can keep her little face above water and move short distances.  ALL these months of swim lessons are finally paying off!
Wyatt took care of some much-needed scalp exfoliating.
Michael and Melissa planned our adventure and we are very thankful for their invitation - - it was a much-needed break!
The best quote of the weekend from Greta:  "I would like an enchilada!  A pink one!"  It wasn't until she gave her color preference that we understood that she wanted a pink PINA COLADA - - not an enchilada!  Like mother, like daughter.
Beach bum . . .
