Memorial Day
Our holiday started with some morning "tummy time" with dad in matching t-shirts. Paul visited Wisconsin a couple of weeks ago and got these Badger shirts for G and Wyatt. Greta was excited about her racoon t-shirt. Later she called it a fox. I guess animal picture books don't often contain badgers. Oh well!
Then we were off to explore the front yard. While I drank coffee on the front stoop, Greta picked some flowers. I love this photo.
Next up, a little pool time. We went to the Y, and Wyatt took his first dip.
Greta even opted to get her hair wet - - a would-be major ordeal if done at home in the bathtub with shampoo.
While she told me that she didn't remember our swim lessons from last summer, Greta seemed to remember feeling pretty happy in the water.
Right as we got to the pool, Greta saw one of her little school friends, Catcher. She kind of stalked him for the rest of the day. I'm not sure if Greta easily succombs to peer pressure at this age, or if adventurous kids just embolden her, but I've absolutely noticed that Greta gravitates toward very spunky children and she follows their lead. The pool was no exception. I was really hoping that Catcher might start swimming laps, because I was pretty sure that Greta would do it if he did.
Wyatt loved the pool and floating on his back while holding onto Paul's fingers. He also got dunked several times and came up smiling.
